SEVEN MILE BEACH
After Hell we drove through the financial district and by Mr. Microsoft Bill Gates' 30 bedroom winter beach home with private beach front. Must be nice. Oh, and we also saw the beach location from the movie "The Firm" where Tom Cruise hooks up with that girl on the beach on his business trip.
Our driver was in his late 60s and he told us he spent most of his career working for the medical examiners' office. He said it was a great job because he got all the benefits of working for the rich hospital and because the crime and death rate is so low in the Cayman Islands, he almost never had any real work to do. The only people here are natives, the super rich on vacation with their security, and tourists.. not much crime between them...
He also told us of several of the "tricks" the super rich use to hide money here from creditors and the tax man - very interesting... also the reason why The Caymans are tax-free... also very interesting :)
